My name is Pauline Amaismeier. I am both a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse. My main job is as a trauma specialist in private practice working with Meredith Counseling and Consulting. There I provide counseling to clients who have been through traumatic experiences and assist them in stabilizing their mood and regaining control over their lives.
I also have my own private practice, Counseling and Trauma Services LLC. This allows me to work directly with individuals, businesses and organizations to assist them in dealing with the effects of direct or indirect exposure to a critical incident or sudden, unexpected injury or death.
I have been assisting disaster victims for over 28 years. I started out and continue to volunteer for the American Red Cross on their Mental Health Disaster Team and am currently an active member of the Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT), which is under the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS), under Health and Human Services of the US government. We set up mobile hospitals in disaster zones where the local medical community and hospitals have been damaged or they are overwhelmed with disaster victims. I am mental health support for the team. Neither the American Red Cross or the Federal Government are responsible for any of the work I do out of their systems. This is entirely on my own time and under my own private practice.
I also have two professional licenses in Pennsylvania. I am a Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor and also Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Registered Nurse. Between the two licenses I have worked both inpatient and outpatient with adults and children who experience mental health problems.
I have a lot of experience in assisting people who have been involved in disasters or have been affected by the emotions that spill out of an incident. I assist in stabilizing disaster victims both immediately and after a week or two passes.
